Penghu Bay Resort, formerly known as Juguang New Village, is a historic military dependents' village that spans two eras — the Japanese colonial period and the Republic of China government — making it the oldest military dependents' village in all of Taiwan. The resort comprises 60 guest rooms, each housed in its own independent single-story bungalow.

Before the advent of building materials such as red brick, cement, and reinforced steel, homes in Penghu were mostly constructed from coral rock or the basalt stone unique to the Penghu islands. The low walls separating each guest room throughout the resort are built from stacked coral rock, and traces of basalt can also be spotted in the exterior walls of the buildings themselves.

Strolling through the peaceful and serene grounds, you can truly feel the stillness and beauty that this place holds.

Every corner of the resort is steeped in a nostalgic, vintage military village atmosphere — as if stepping back in time to the simple, unhurried days of the 1950s and 60s.
